Natural Acne Treatment

If you are dealing with acne, it is not a whole lot of fun. Whether you have a very mild case or more of a moderate case, each day brings new challenges. Just when you think things are getting better you get a bunch of new pimples, and your breakouts start all over again. Wouldn’t it be great if you could find a way to keep your acne under control more regularly and consistently?

Fortunately, there are ways to greatly reduce the amount of acne you experience. What you need is a natural acne treatment that, when used consistently, keeps your skin looking its best and pimples down to an absolute minimum.

Choosing a natural acne treatment

Finding the right natural acne treatment is not as hard as you might think. The key is to be patient as you try different types of treatments, because just like chemicals and medicated over the counter products, it takes a bit of time for natural acne treatment to start showing results.

Here are a few of the most popular natural acne treatment choices that may be just right for your needs:

Apply steam – This is a terrific place to start because it really opens up your pores and makes it easier to get your entire face nice and clean. Boil some water on the stove and then take it off of the burner; using a towel to capture the steam, lean over the bowl and let your skin soak up the steam. In most cases five to ten minutes is plenty of time. When you’re finished with the steam treatment use a gentle cleanser to wash your face and rinse with cool water.

Apply citrus juice – Citrus juices are natural astringents; they do a nice job of getting rid of extra oils, dirt and bacteria on your skin. Lemons and limes seem to work the best, so all you have to do is squeeze out their juice and rub it gently on your skin. Leave the juice on overnight to get the most benefit possible.

Apply a natural paste – There are several natural pastes you can apply to your skin as full masks as well as spot treatments for problem pimples and acne lesions. Try mixing sandalwood and rosewater into a thick paste, or mixing honey and cinnamon powder together in the same way. Whichever paste you decide to use, rub very gently on your skin or dab onto specific pimples that are causing you problems. For the very best possible result, leave the paste on overnight while you sleep and then rinse gently in the morning using clean, cool water.

Natural acne treatment has been around for many, many years; before chemical and medicated products were available over the counter these and other natural remedies were the only choices for those dealing with acne problems. They can be very effective (and relatively inexpensive) if you use them regularly and consistently. Remember, it may take a few weeks for results to start being noticeable so be patient. Let your natural acne treatment work over time and you are bound to like what you see.
